Counting On Us:
A Conversation On Faith, Justice and the Vote

Is nonviolent protest a form of worship and healing? How does our faith ultimately connect to our vote? Xfinity presents a virtual conversation on September 24th, with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Trymaine Lee, moderating a virtual conversation featuring: Rev. Al Sharpton, (President, National Action Network); Deborah Turner (President, League of Women Voters); Nsé Ufot (Executive Director, New Georgia Project); and Rahiel Tesfamariam (Activist, Theologian, Writer).  The event concludes with a musical performance by Grammy-nominated gospel music recording artist, Deitrick Haddon, performing his chart-topping hit, "I Can't Breathe". The Fannie Lou Hamer Story + Intergenerational Virtual Conversation

On October 10th, Xfinity presents a one-woman theatrical performance featuring internationally acclaimed singer and actress, Mzuri Moyo Aimbaye, as voting and women’s rights activist, Fannie Lou Hamer. The performance is followed by an intergenerational dialogue that virtually brings together elder leaders of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), with a new generation of justice leaders, the majority hailing from HBCUs. Add this free event to your calendar.
